How ESPs make a difference

During American Education Week, NEA celebrated National ESP Day and the ESP careers that are essential to student success with the release of a new video, ESPs: Meeting the needs of the whole student. Through the eyes of Sofi, a middle school student, the video shows how ESPs make a difference both in and out of the classroom.

Christmas Party

We would like to let you know that we are not able to take last minute walk ins for the Christmas Party tomorrow night(the 9th). We have had enough RSVP’s to fill the hall where the party is being held. We are sorry we don’t have room for more but didn’t expect this big a turnout. Please know that we will be doing more events in the coming new year and are going to look for larger venues to hold them in so please keep an eye on new posts for upcoming events. We want to continue to plan fun things for us to get together and do so that we all get to know each other better.

  Thanks for all your support,

Marty, Joanne, Jennifer, Janet, Juanita and Bill

Retro Pay Update

Good news!! The retro pay will be issued on the December 9th pay period. Unfortunately this will only be the regular hours retro. On December 23rd the district will pay the Overtime/Extra Duty retro pay and the TA stipend. These are supposed to be separate line items for both pay dates like the just paid out longevity stipend so watch your pay statements for these. If you do not get yours please contact your building rep or one of the executive officers for help.

IEA Delegate Election

This Thursday is the election for the delegates to send to the IEA/RA in March of 2017. Your building rep should have the ballots out for you to vote. Again night crews will vote on Wednesday night and everyone else on Thursday. There will be bio’s of the candidates for you to look at prior to voting. The RA is the representative assembly in Chicago this year where the IEA votes on issues and the new budget for the coming year that affects all of us. Please be sure to take the time to vote.
