Your IMRF benefits include disability protection if you become disabled while you are an IMRF member. Your IMRF disability benefits are valuable because:

• You continue to earn IMRF service credit toward your future IMRF pension, at no cost to you.
• Your death benefits would still include one year’s salary, and death benefit options are the same as if you were still working
• Your retirements benefits will not be affected by the amount of your disability benefit. Your original salary will be used to calculate your retirement benefit.

Just a reminder as was stated at the last membership update meetings that our next session with the mediator will be on Tuesday October 20. Information of that meeting should be available by Wednesday. Thank you to all those that attended the past informational meetings.

If you are currently a building rep please send John Piechocinski your name building you represent and your personal email address. As you have probably heard news must be spread to membership quickly and accurately. We need everyone’s involvement. If your building does not have a rep you need to make sure there is someone that will be responsible to insure you are not left out in the cold. The days of not being uninformed an uninvolved are the thing of the past. We cannot help you unless you help us. Thank you to those that have already made the commitment to help. We need all the building reps to respond with this information.

PASS conducted 2 membership meetings on October 15. Both meeting were well attended and both had spirited discussions. Our work is far from being done. The bargaining team cannot do it alone. We need everyone’s support. We all realize how important we are to the District. Now we have to make the Administration realize that the Support Staff is both valuable and UNITED. remember by working together we will succeed.
