Here’s the latest on the contract. Your negotiating team met tonight (Wednesday) to check the final copies from the district against the last draft that we distributed to all of you. We signed all the copies and will be getting them to the district for inclusion on the agenda for the Monday (the 7th) board meeting for the Board to sign. Sometime after that we expect the district will be sending out the retro pay to all of us. They should be releasing the longevity stipends to be paid out also. We will update you when we have that information. We will also be getting copies of the new ratified contract printed for distribution to all of you through your building reps.

  Here are the results of the voting. With 781 (81%) of 963 members voting the contract passed with 568 (73%) voting yes,  213 (27%) voting no. The tallying of the votes was done by executive board members Marty Paczkowski, Joanne Clemans, Jennifer Peil, Janet Grimes, Juanita Samms and Bill Favero with building reps Janet DiStasio from Ira Jones and Debbie Tjernagel from Plainfield North High School. Kathy Pristas, Student Services Coordinator from the Admin Center verified the count. We would like to also thank all the building reps or their designees for delivering the ballots to Bonnie McBeth for the tally.

We will be holding contract ratification voting this Wednesday the 26th at all buildings. Your building reps will have the ballots for you to vote. The only building without a rep at this time is Riverview and we are making sure someone there will get the ballots to members there for voting. We will be verifying the counts that evening and posting the results on this website. We will also email the results to the reps to post in their buildings the following day. I will be posting the list of the building reps so you will know who in your building to see. You should also see a post soon (Monday at the latest?) with the minutes from the Q&A Friday night so everyone knows what was talked about. This will also be emailed to the reps to post in their buildings and feel free again to tell coworkers who have not signed up to follow this sight to please do so. It is the easiest way to stay abreast of union news short of seeking out your rep or looking at your pass bulletin board. District policy expressly FORBIDS us from using school email for news (although sometimes notice of upcoming meetings is allowed) and we cannot do mass emails to members from our personal accounts or the service providers will consider us spammers. We are looking into a Business email address to determine the cost and feasability that would allow us to directly email all members whose address we have (currently over 500).  The follow button is in the lower right corner of the page on the website (www.202pass.org). All you need to do is click follow and do as the instructions say to receive emails when new posts are available. visiting the website lets you view older posts also and there are other links at the top and right side of the page to links for other info such as, officers names and email addresses, IMRF link and other relevant topics.

   We will be holding the question and answer meeting about the draft of the tentative contract on Friday the 21st of October at 4:00. The meeting will be held in the main cafeteria at Plainfield Central High School. If you work night shift please try to give any questions you may have to a fellow union member from day shift to bring for you. If this is not possible feel free to email your questions to one of us officers and we will send an answer back to you. Time constraints do not allow us to hold a meeting during the day for the night shift people. Please plan on attending. This will give you a few days to look over the copy you received today or Monday. We will be holding the vote the following week at each school and will then tally the votes and inform you of the results. Hope to see you there!!
