ESPs as Agents for the Whole Student
School Support Staff hold a special place in a school setting. They are trusted, respected, and for many students, are adults who students can connect to more directly, since they are often outside of the classroom setting.
One of the key functions of all support staff (ESPs) is in connecting , developing and maintaining connections with students themselves.
We need to be sure our students aren’t just good test takers, but are able to think critically, work with their peers, and that they are healthy both physically and emotionally.
It is the connections ESPs make to the students as individuals that are crucial to establishing a safe, secure and welcoming environment.
