CUSTODIAL AND MAINTENANCE STAFF
   A huge THANK YOU to our custodians and maintenance workers who have been deemed ESSENTIAL WORKERS in this unprecedented time! You have had a huge responsibility placed upon you to keep our buildings cleaned and maintained for anyone who has to remain in the buildings to do their work. You do not go unnoticed or unappreciated!
 

ALL PASS EMPLOYEES
   We would like to thank all of you for your continued flexibility in continuing to perform your jobs, no matter how you are working. We know these are stressful times for everyone and, along with the district, we continue to monitor the ongoing changes from the CDC/IDPH/County for the safety of our members.

ZOOM INFO
   For those of you who use Zoom in your workday, please see the attached Memos from Superintendent Lane Abrell regarding Zoom settings. While we know that our paraprofessionals do not usually set up Zoom meetings, you may be a designated as a co-host. Please be sure you know how to use the functions of Zoom as a co-host (ie removing students from the room, muting students, using the chat feature, sharing your screen).

 Re:                  Zoom links authorization/security settings.
 
   All staff must check their Zoom settings to make sure that meeting options require authentication for participants.
   When the option for authentication is enabled only people that have logged in with an @psd202.org ID can attempt to join the meeting. 
    It is important to go into your recurring meetings to change this setting as well. Once changed you will not need to update again.
    If meeting with parents or external guests, you can turn off the setting to have a meeting that does not require authentication. 
   There are a number of ways to update but attached are screenshots to access your Zoom account.

  4. Scroll down page
  5. Check default is turned on

  3. Scroll Down to Meeting Options
  4. Click on required authentication to join and click save

  Not securing the zoom links or settings leaves our students at risk for uninvited guests to join meetings or classes.  And as evidenced by a recent incident in District 202, when uninvited guests join zoom meetings or classes the chances of bad or inappropriate things happening increase and in fact, do happen.   If there is any question or confusion on the part of a staff member on how to secure zoom links or settings, it is incumbent for a staff member to seek direction from their building administration.  Not securing or authenticating the zoom links or settings will be subject to address by the administration.
   I cannot emphasize enough how important it is for you to take the time to set or double check and secure the zoom links to keep our students (and yourself) secure and out of harms way.   
  Thank you for your immediate attention on this important safety detail of teaching through a remote platform.  

 
FFCRA (FAMILIES FIRST COVID RELIEF ACT)
  The FFCRA is due to expire December 31st
   For those who are currently not working due to child-care issues or health issues, and who’s job requires them to work in the building (lunchroom supervisor, campus monitor, some clerks, custodians, maintenance, grounds), you will be contacted by Becky Sipes starting next week to let you know what your options are going forward.
 

TITLE IX MANDATORY TRAINING
   We very recently received information that there have been recent updates on federal laws prohibiting sexual harassment in education and employment. The update requires training for all employees under Illinois law on sexual harassment prevention, by Dec. 31st. The training consists of all employees being asked to watch the one hour informational video. Here is the link to the video of the training through Vimeo
 Employee Sexual Harassment Training. The password is !Plainfield202!  The training will be completed on an individual basis, very similar to the GCN mandates.  Each building will create a google form for you to sign, which indicates you have completed this required training. Please contact your administration in your building for more information on how to sign that you have completed the training.

STIPENDS
   Even though 1st semester normally ends before winter break but does not end until January 15 this school year, the district is processing the parapro stipends to be paid on December 11 for those who will complete 70 days by winter break.
   Anyone who was hired after September 4 but by Sept 21 (Sept 17 assigned to BM) will be paid on Jan 22 if they qualify.

WORK FROM HOME
   Per the district, it has been decided APT and some PASS members will not be required to work in the building, regardless if they have contacted Becky Sipes or not, through the end of first semester (January 15th).  The buildings are open and they are welcomed, but it is not required.  Please continue to follow the self-certification and attendance procedures, for the staff who do report to the building.  The attendance purposes are only for contact tracing, if there is a COVID exposure to an employee.  It is not, to keep tallies on who is working in the building and who is not.  All employees, working from home, have to demonstrate the expectations for remote learning.  School buildings will remain open for those who need or must report to the building to carry out their job duties.  In collaboration with PASS leadership, it has been determined that some categories might not have the option to work from home, since they may not be able to perform the essential function of their job from home. The bottom line is, anyone working from home has to do the essential functions of their job each day.  
 

WORK HOURS
   SETA schedules are being changed to match the teacher’s schedule.  The hours for the paraprofessionals will now be 8:00am – 3:00pm instead of 7:30am – 2:30pm.
