Registration for the IEA Ethnic Minority & Emerging Leadership Training is now open! This series of workshops is geared to helping ethnic minority and emerging leaders in our state understand IEA structure, the resources at your disposal, the skills you need to increase association involvement, and assist you in developing a personal plan of action for long-term development and participation in the association. You will also refine your organizational skills, develop your problem solving abilities, broaden your knowledge of education issues, and develop strategies that benefit your local organizations, schools, and communities. Hurry! Registration ends Oct. 31!  Register today!


Reminder: IEA One Conference – Oak Brook, Oct. 12-13

    • This is an excellent conference which offers a wide variety of sessions and, while targeting ESP, IEA-R and Higher Ed. The conference is open to all categories of IEA members.
    • Register for the conference for $20 person! Attendees can register for both the conference and hotel rooms on the IEA website.
    • Early registration is $20 per person and closes on Oct. 1. On-site registration is $30 per person. Register online and choose pay by check for the fee then email Juanita Samms at with your confirmation number so we can pay your fee all at the same time for all attendees.
    • The hotel room block closes September 21.

PASS Bargaining Team Applications

  Negotiations Committee Application

We are now accepting applications for the PASS Negotiation Team for the upcoming contract negotiations.

Negotiations usually take place during the work day. In the past we have negotiated at the Village Hall or the District Offices. The district gives us release time so you will not have to use any sick, personal, or vacation time.

Completed application forms should be sent electronically in a Word doc to Jennifer Peil at  by September 25, 2018. See below for the application form.

Applicants will be notified by September 28, 2018 with their interview date.  All interviews will take place the week of October 1, 2018 at Plainfield Academy after work hours.

Candidates will be notified of their selection to the team no later than October 12, 2018.

If selected as a Negotiation Team Member or alternate* your attendance is expected at the following:

  • Team Dinner (date to be determined)
  • Weekly Team Meetings throughout the school year until contract is settled (day to be determined by team)
  • Various meetings in buildings as assigned

*Alternates will participate in weekly meetings as able, but will only go to the table if a team member resigns their position or if needed by the team.  Attendance is expected for all meetings listed above.

 Additional questions can be directed to any PASS officer.

 All applications must be received no later than 4:00 pm on September 25, 2018.

 Interviews will be held the week of October 1st after 4:00 pm.  You will be notified by October 12th if you have been selected as a member of the team. Please be prepared to spend approximately 15-20 minutes talking with the PASS Executive Board.
