April 28, 2016
As a result of your PASS Negotiating  Teams efforts, and your participation at our rallies, community door to door canvasing, speaking with the community/parents/teachers and our continued presence at School Board meetings, the Administration/ Board of Education team presented a written supposal for us to consider regarding solutions for outsourcing.
Because of our hard work, of organizing and informing the community and the Board, the District and Union are closer to reaching positive solutions to resolving the outsourcing crisis. The Administration/Board Team requested us to not share details of their supposal, and have asked that we keep the discussions from today confidential. Your Bargaining Team made the choice to honor their request.
We are at a critical point in negotiations, and are making some real progress. Both sides have agreed to meet every day next week with the hope of reaching a mutually acceptable agreement.
As soon as possible your team will share details. Please continue to stand together, and stand with us

Bargaining Update

Monday April 18

This morning at the beginning of bargaining your PASS Bargaining Team asked the Board/Administration “What are your interests so that we can get the outsourcing issue off the table.” They gave no response and that they would have to go back as a team and discuss it.

Proposals were exchanged on the following topics:

5.1  Performance Evaluations

Respectful Work Environment

7.2a  Bereavement Leave

7.3  Personal/Religious/Military/Disaster Leave

7.4 Vacation

One tentative agreement was reached on 7.3 with the addition of one word to clarify current practice.

After the morning closed session, your PASS Bargaining team came forward with a verbal supposal with regard to saving the District approximately 1 million dollars. The Board took our supposal  under advisement to discuss at our next negotiation meeting scheduled for April 27th. In addition, PASS offered two additional bargaining dates prior to the April 27th which were declined by the Board.

PASS asked Administration and the Board if there would be any action taken on the issue of outsourcing at the April 25th Board Meeting. Board President Michelle Smith stated “The Board will not be taking any action or vote on that date.” There will be a public hearing at 6:30 to hear comments with a 7:30 Board meeting to follow.

WE NEED ALL PASS MEMBERS to join together to rally at the District Office on Monday, April 25th at 5:30 pm . The Public hearing is at 6:30 followed by the Board meeting at 7:30. WEAR RED TO SUPPORT PASS!!!!
